My journey with Pilates, dance, and teaching.

The summary:

I was a dancer in New York City when I started teaching at an after school program in Queens. When I moved upstate and needed a job, I opened my own ballet school. I had no idea what I was doing!

I quickly discovered how little support exists for new teachers and especially studio owners serving small markets. Over the next 15 years, I carved out a niche in my area as the go-to studio for ballet and Pilates. Now, I’ve left the studio owner life to focus on training teachers and helping other business owners create sustainable success.

Sustain with Sarah Keeler aims to provide the resources I wish I’d had when I was starting my teaching career.

From accessible teacher training to consulting services, I help movement educators step into the studio feeling confident, supported, and prepared to make a difference.

Some of my CV credentials because those are a thing:

  • EYT™ Pilates certified master* educator

  • Balanced Body comprehensive education

  • Peak Pilates mat education

  • ABT© certified teacher in Pre-Primary - Level 5 of the ABT NTC

  • ACE Group Fitness

  • CPR/Aed Certified

  • Pointe Readiness Assessment Certificate

  • 15+ years full time teaching and studio ownership

I write, too.

Outside of the movement education world, I work as a freelance writer for regional publications and global brands. My current personal project is a collection of essays about New York State, some of which you can read on my Substack.

When I’m not working, I can be found working. (Kidding, kind of.)
