Certification Requirements
-
Live in-person training to learn the fundamentals of Pilates, beginner, intermediate and advanced repertoire, and how to successfully teach a group or private session. Replays of recorded seminars available.
-
The practice part of the process comes in two equal parts:
Practice Pilates yourself. Learn the mechanics of each exercise in your own body. Practice. Practice again. Keep practicing!
Practice teaching others. This is arguably the most important component of the process. We start practice teaching on Day 1 because I firmly believe you can only learn to teach by teaching.
-
Observe other teachers at work! This doesn’t just give you inspiration, it connects you to the Pilates community as you build your professional network.
-
A written and practical exam with feedback from me finishes your course and gets you that shiny stamped certification!

This program requires attendance at three scheduled 4 -6 hour seminars in person at the host studio.
The remaining 75 hours of study are primarily self-paced, meaning you can complete them on your own pace, any place. That’s the beauty of the mat work! No studio necessary.
Test-out dates are scheduled for 10 weeks after the final seminar of the program. Most students find that is sufficient time to complete the 75 recommended hours of self-practice, observation and practice teaching required. If you need more time to complete your hours — no worries!I will schedule your final assessment whenever you’re ready.
-
There are no prerequisites for the Mat Certification program. I recommend you take at least 5 classical mat Pilates classes (online or in person) at some point before your first seminar.
While dancers will find some elements of the program helpful to their needs, non-dancers are also welcome.

The EYT curriculum I use gives us the ultimate combination of flexibility and high quality training.
You get the supportive in-person mentorship that’s at the heart of any quality Pilates teacher training.
AND you get the flexibility to go at your own pace, study at home or on the road, and tailor the program to suit your needs.
P.S.: This is also one of the most affordable Classical Pilates teacher programs on the market.
Full disclosure: My first mat certification cost me about $3,500 about 13 years ago . . . that’s more than double what this one cost and it wasn’t half as thorough or flexible.
-
$1,199 paid in full today or $1230 paid out in installments over three months.
No hidden fees or extra study material costs. It’s all included.
